Scuffed Studios ("we", "our") makes AI Apocalypse and sells it on Steam. This page lists what the game and this website collect and how to turn collection off.

1. Data the Game Saves on Your Device

Your progress lives on your device, at a standard Unity path:

  • Windows: %APPDATA%\..\LocalLow\Scuffed Studios\AI Apocalypse\
  • macOS: ~/Library/Application Support/Scuffed Studios/AI Apocalypse/
  • Linux: ~/.config/unity3d/Scuffed Studios/AI Apocalypse/

Your saves hold your current run and your meta-progression: the cards and gear you have earned, achievements, and the highest difficulty you reached. They contain no name, email address, or Steam ID.

2. Anonymous Gameplay Stats (Opt-In)

On first launch, the game asks whether you want to send anonymous gameplay stats. If you say no, the game sends us nothing. If you say yes, we use the stats to balance cards and enemies and to find the fights where players quit or get stuck.

With stats on, the game sends:

  • When each play session starts and ends, plus a check-in every two minutes while you play
  • Your class, difficulty, and build path for each run
  • The map nodes you enter, the enemies in each fight, your HP going in and coming out, and the turn count
  • Cards and gear you were offered and the ones you took, shop purchases, card upgrades and removals, and event choices
  • How each run ended (win, death, or quit) and the deck and gear you finished with
  • Game version, operating system, graphics card, memory, screen resolution, and average frame rate
  • The error type and code location when the game hits an error

Every batch carries a random ID the game generates on your device. That ID is not your Steam ID. We never receive your name, email address, or Steam account. The stats go to Cloudflare Workers Analytics Engine, which deletes them after 90 days. Cloudflare sees your IP address when the game connects, as with any website visit, and we do not store it with the stats.

To change your answer, open Settings, then Gameplay, and flip "Send anonymous gameplay stats." Switching it off stops all sending right away. The random ID ties to no person, so we have no way to find one player's stats on request. They expire on their own after 90 days.

3. Steam Cloud Sync

Steam is the only place to get the game. Valve Corporation syncs your save files across your devices through Steam Cloud, which Valve runs, not us. Valve's privacy policy covers that data. See Valve's Privacy Policy.

4. Steam Achievements & Stats

Achievements you earn and running totals (for example, total runs completed) go to Steam's achievement API. Your Steam profile shows them according to your Steam privacy settings, which you control in your Steam account. We do not receive or store this data.

5. Website (This Site)

aiapocgame.com runs on Cloudflare Pages. We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages people read. Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser. Block them with your browser's cookie settings or an ad blocker and the site still works. Cloudflare logs basic request data (IP address, browser, and the page requested) for security and performance. See Google's Privacy Policy and Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.

6. Account Signup (Scuffed Account)

Signing up on this site creates a free Scuffed account, one login shared across Scuffed Studios games and sites (AI Apocalypse updates, Gridweave, Samsara). Our authentication provider, Supabase, stores your email address and a hashed copy of your password. We never see the password itself. Cloudflare Turnstile screens signups for bots. If you tick the updates box, we email you AI Apocalypse launch news and new Scuffed Studios games. We do not sell or share your email address. Every email has an unsubscribe link, or write to [email protected], which also handles account deletion.

When you email the support address, your address and message stay in our inbox so we can reply. We do not share support messages with anyone.

7. Children's Privacy

AI Apocalypse is rated Teen (13+) / PEGI 12. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child sent us data, write to the address below and we will delete it.

8. Your Rights (GDPR / CCPA)

Residents of the European Union, the United Kingdom, and California have the right to:

  • Access: get a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Delete: have that data removed.
  • Portability: receive your data in a machine-readable format.
  • Object: tell us to stop processing your data.

We hold personal data only if you emailed us or created a Scuffed account. Gameplay stats are anonymous and covered in section 2. To use any of these rights, email [email protected].

9. Changes to This Policy

If we change this policy, we update the date at the top and note the change on this site and in the game's patch notes. If you keep playing after a change, the updated policy applies.
